Turais Báid - Boat Tours

Boat Trips from Kincasslagh Harbour offer a gateway to the Islands of the Rosses and some of the most stunning scenery that Donegal has to offer. Paul the skipper provides a guided tour outlining the history of the area, prominant landmarks and their Irish names and meanings..

Heading East provides views of Rann na Liath Lighthouse, Mullaghderg and Carrickfinn Beaches with Errigal mountain in the background, the Napoleonic Tower of Mullaghderg built around 1805, site of the Ballymanus Mine Disaster (1943). Pass by Rabbit Rock (Coinín) Inisfree, Gola and Inis Meáin Islands and the entrance to Bunbeg Harbour. Further Northeast lies Bloody Foreland and Tory Island.

West from Kincasslagh Harbour the cruise passes Cruit Island, home of a stunning 9 hole Golf Course and Seán McBride, songwriter of the Irish Ballad, The Homes of Donegal. North west from Cruit lies Owey Island with its spectacular cliffs, sea stacks and caves and old island homes restored to their former glory providing evidence of a way of life never to be seen again. North west of Owey and last stop before Iceland lie the Stags or Trí Mhic Uí gCorra, banished from Tory Island and turned to stone. Continue southwest from Owey towards Arranmore Island with its majestic cliffs and lighthouse towering over the sea below and the entrance to Burtonport Harbour on the island's east side.
